"The Mirrored River" - acrylic on canvas 20” x 20“ [50.8 cm x 50.8 cm]

During lockdown I have had a strong desire to be near water, whether that be shoreline or river bank. The renowned river Thames has been the perfect setting to be mesmerised by it’s colours, movement and in particular the way the light dances on the surface. Hints of blue are taken from the sky, while the organic forms both beneath and beside the water bring multiple shades of green to the visual symphony.
The Mirrored River is a reflection of reflection. A visual ode to the interaction of light and water, whether that be viewed from above, or below the surface.
The Blue + Green collection was created as my response to the RGA (Reading Guild of Artists), online exhibition, in which this painting is currently on display.
